| When did you first start cheerleading or dancing? |
I started dancing when I was two and a half years old and have been ever since. |
| Why did you choose the school you currently attend? |
I choose FAU because of the dance team. I saw their website and knew I had to go there! |
| What is the biggest difference between cheer/dance in college versus high school/all-star? |
Dance in college is much harder than studio or high school dance. It is important to look as a team, which means making sure you blend in with the team and you must pay close attention to detail. It is a team effort rather than individual. |
| Most memorable moment in collegiate cheer/dance career? |
My most memorable moment in my dance career was dancing at the Motor City Bowl. It was a day after Christmas, we were big under-dogs and the stadium was huge. Even being the under-dogs, we won and I got to be a part of it. We danced at half time and it was such an exhilarating feeling. I will never forget it. |
| Most embarrassing moment in college career? |
My most embarrassing moment was definitely the time I wore my coach’s jazz sneaker for a time out performance and the shoe starting falling apart on the court. It was noticeable throughout the dance and at the end, referees had to come out and clean up my mess. It was definitely an experience! |
| Most influential person in your life and why? |
My mother, without a doubt! She has always believed in me and pushed me to go as far as I could with dance. Also, my Coach Lisa for believing in me and always taking the time to do the little things that matter. |
| My career ambition is: |
I want to be a special education teacher. I also want to do something with dance whether it be teaching and giving back or dancing for a professional team. |
| I live by the following motto: |
Shoot for the moon, if you miss you’re still amongst the stars. |
| Favorite course in school and why? |
I like psychology because it has always fascinated me. I cannot wait to get into my education field though. |
| Least favorite course and why? |
I am not a fan of math. Dancers really only have count to eight! |
| Favorite tv show: |
So You Think You Can Dance! |
| Favorite hobbies: |
Dancing ofcourse. I also like going to the beach, the movies, hanging out with friends and enjoying the little things in life. |
| Favorite sports team growing up: |
I was forced to like the Minnesota Vikings but was always a Dallas Cowboy fan because of their dancers! |
| Favorite actor and actress? |
Ashton Kutcher, he is hilarious and cute too. |
| Favorite vacation spot: |
Anywhere tropical! |
| Favorite holiday and why? |
I love Christmas because that time of year just gives off a great vibe. |
| Best advice to give someone who wants to be a college cheerleader/dancer: |
Work hard, love what you do, go with your heart, never give up and give them all you’ve got! |
| No one knows this about me but… |
Sometimes I eat breakfast in the shower! |
| Is cheerleading/dancing a sport, why or why not? |
100% yes! It is very physically demanding and you must do things with your body that most other athletes cannot do. It is an art form and a sport, so therefore it is some sort of super sport! |
