| When did you first start cheerleading or dancing? |
Three years old |
| Why did you choose the school you currently attend? |
I knew I wanted to dance for a tradition-rich school and be a part of a D-1 collegiate dance team. I knew KU had all of this to offer and I fell in love with the university and campus at first sight. |
| What is the biggest difference between cheer/dance in college versus high school/all-star? |
A college dance team is all about time commitment, dedication, and having organizational skills for an entire year. We are very busy year round because we cheer for football and basketball as well as have our own competition season to prepare for. Scheduled practices and mandatory workouts are a weekly thing so staying on track with school requires good time management skills. Accountability, responsibility, and attitude are very important on a collegiate dance team because you are in charge of getting yourself to practice and games and being prepared for every event every time. |
| Most memorable moment in collegiate cheer/dance career? |
Making the KU dance team my very first year! Auditions were extremely tough and I was up against talented people. I couldn’t believe I made it. Also, another memorable moment was being in Miami, FL to witness the victory of KU winning the BCS Orange Bowl! |
| Most embarrassing moment in college career? |
Messing up during a halftime performance. |

| Best advice to give someone who wants to be a college cheerleader/dancer: |
Know what you are getting into. Realize that school is always top priority so make sure you can handle classes every day and dance team at the same time because it can become overwhelming at times but so worth in the end! |
| No one knows this about me but… |
I chew at least 2 packs of gum a day. |
| Is cheerleading/dancing a sport, why or why not? |
It depends how you look at it. Dance is a sport because it requires a great amount of muscle strength, endurance, and power to get through each routine. Dance is an art because there are so many different styles of dance and so many ways to interpret each routine. |
